Environmental Light: How Light Quietly Affects Emotions and Concentration
Few people wake up in the morning and deliberately "feel the light," yet light quietly affects people from within. Cooler, brighter light in the morning tells the body it is time to wake; warmer, dimmer light in the evening suggests it is time to relax.
Floor lamps and corner lamps: Let the light grow out of layers
When furnishing a room, many people make the same mistake: relying on a single ceiling lamp to flood the whole space with flat, harsh light that feels cold and lifeless. Pedestrians can see the path ahead, drivers can make out lane markings and signs, and riders need not guess what lies in the dark. Streetlights look ordinary, yet they are one of the most fundamental public services a city offers after dark.
